About Anna - Perinatal Counselling Psychologist

Dr Anna Fitzgibbon

BSc (Hons); DCounsPsych

Hi there, I’m Anna, a Senior Counselling Psychologist.

I specialise in Perinatal Mental Health and Fertility and currently split my time between private practice and the NHS where I work alongside parents and infants.

I am passionate about offering support to individuals and couples throughout their experiences of fertility and parenthood, from pre-conception to the early years of parenting. Whether you are struggling with your fertility, have experienced loss, are struggling with your mental health pre- or post-natally or are having difficulties with your relationship or attachment with your baby. These can be painful, isolating and overwhelming times and my role is to be alongside you whilst you make sense of and move through your experiences.

My priority is creating a safe, compassionate, collaborative and non-judgemental space online where you can bring all of yourself. I work with individuals and couples and very much see you as the expert of your experiences. I therefore draw on a range of trauma and attachment informed therapies to be able to offer an approach which is flexible and tailored to you.

Areas of interest:

Perinatal mental health, fertility difficulties/infertility, pre- and post-natal depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (specifically birth trauma), OCD, loss & bereavement (including baby loss) and relationship & attachment difficulties (infant mental health).

Specialises in:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), CBT with Exposure and Response Prevention (CBT with ERP), Person-Centred Therapy, Trauma focused CBT, Parent-Infant Psychotherapy, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)

I am a registered member of the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC Number  PYL042109).

Professional Referral Network

Referral Network

My priority is ensuring you receive timely, specialist psychological support for your fertility and perinatal journey. When my caseload is full or when taking a break from practice, I work with trusted psychology colleagues who share my approach to therapy.

If I'm unable to offer you an appointment, I can refer you to Dr Anna Fitzgibbon, Counselling Psychologist, who also specialises in fertility difficulties, pregnancy loss, and perinatal mental health.

I'm transparent that I receive a referral fee when connecting clients with colleagues in this way, but I only recommend psychologists whose clinical approach and expertise I trust completely.

You're imperfect and you're wired for struggle, but you are worthy of love & belonging. Brene Brown.
